Dad'sConnexx — Wild Rose Community Connections

for the men Who build kids up

DadConnexx brings together male role models (dads, step dads, uncles, grandpas, older brothers and other male role models) to spend quality time with their kids. Men often get left out of the child-rearing mix and here we provide a relaxed atmosphere for these important men to come together with their kids to share a meal, an activity and create new friendships with other dads.

DadConnexx is funded in Claresholm, Okotoks, High River, Diamond Valley, and Foothills County through Family and Community Support Services (FCSS).

In 2023 DadConnexx enjoyed meeting 761 community members at various events!

Programs

DadCONNEXX: Monthly community events

A monthly-drop-in program open to all ages (babies to teens). These get togethers are rooted in creating memories through the act of fun! There is pizza (or another tasty supper) and events can include bouncy castles, sports, organized games and other family-oriented activities.

DadCONNEXX On Location

With this program we get out into the communities, rotating through our service areas. We have held events at fire halls tours, batting cages, mini golf courses, parks for BBQs, skating rink, pump tracks, disc golf or any other community areas.

There’s A Dad For That

Fathers play a vital role in the healthy development of children. Alberta Father Involvement Initiative (AFII) encourages the responsible involvement of fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and any other man who is influencing a child. Amazing things happen to kids, moms, the community, and to dads, when men give their time, attention, and focus to the children they are raising.
