All community members are welcome attend the market and help yourselves to 1 plastic grocery bag of food. We ask that community members visit the Market 4 times a month so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the benefits of the rescued food.
WRCC would like to send out a very heartfelt thank you to the Salvation Army staff and organization for their generous support and contribution to helping launch Food Rescue in High River.
The fridge and freezer have been proudly donated by:
Western Financial Group and High River Rotary.
The Food Rescue initiative would not be possible without our participating local grocery stores:
High River Sobey's, Andrew & Jessica's No Frills and High River Co-Op.
As of September, Food Rescue volunteers have rescued over 60,000 pounds of food from local grocery stores, businesses, restaurants and events. This food has been diverted from the landfill (saving our environment) and distributed to over 4300 people. There have been 114 Markets since the program started in October 2018!
All community members are welcome to join us at the Markets and help yourself to a bag of groceries of your choice. No identification information is required.
